By stimulating the synthesis of choline Methionine regulates the synthesis of phospholipids from fats and reduces neutral fat deposition in the liver. It participates in the synthesis of adrenaline, creatine, and activates a number of hormones, enzymes, cyanocobalamin, ascorbic and folic acids. It neutralizes some toxic substances by methylation.
